Industry Trend Analysis - What Our Clients Want To Know: Low Carbon Economy Q&A - NOV 2017

In September 2017, BMI Research hosted a webinar on corporate strategies in the low carbon economy - focusing particularly on the heavy industry sectors, including Autos, Oil & Gas, Power, Mining and Infrastructure. The webinar explored how companies will adjust to the low carbon economy and what it will mean for their business operations. In this analysis we answer some of the client questions posed during the Q&A session that followed the presentation.

What are BMI's views on new nuclear power plant development, and in particular small modular reactors?

Our outlook for growth in nuclear power capacity over the coming decade changes significantly depending on the region and country under consideration. The number of nuclear reactors in operation across the world will increase through to 2026, but growth will come primarily from China and other emerging markets, while the industry will decline in most developed economies ( see ' Global Nuclear Outlook: Diverging Growth To Create Challenges And Opportunities ' , September 18).
