Bulgaria may see an influx of investment from Chinese carmakers and parts makers as a result of the increasing bilateral relations between the two countries. The signing of a memorandum for cooperation between governments of the two countries on June 15 aims to encourage new Chinese investments into Bulgaria and to establish a joint Bulgarian-Chinese industrial zone at Bozhurishte near Sofia. Although these relations will undoubtedly help Bulgaria attract new investments, we see the cooperation as being more strategic for the Chinese carmakers.
