Chinese carmaker BYD Auto has started its expansion in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states in earnest, as it prepares for the official launch of its models in Bahrain. The company signed an agreement with local distributor Fakhro Motors in January and the first batch of cars has now arrived in the country. Mohamed Adel Fakhro, director of Fakhro's parent company Abdulla Yousif Fakhro & Sons (AYFS), believes the two companies are a strategically good fit, as BYD is rapidly growing and Fakhro itself has 'established good will in the Bahraini car market in a very short
