Despite having successful joint ventures with US carmaker General Motors Company (GM) and Germany's Volkswagen (VW), the focus for China's Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp (SAIC) in future will lie firmly with its own brands. Sales of its wholly owned Roewe and MG brands exceeded 82,000 units in January to November 2009, up 160% year-on-year (y-o-y), and the company expects total full-year sales to be around 90,000 units.
