The director general of Nigeria's National Automotive Council (NAC), Alhaji Aminu Jalal, has announced a strategy for the country's automotive industry, as it has become apparent that the goal of producing a fully indigenous car by 2017 is unachievable. The guidelines set for building a domestic car were that 65% of the total parts and components should be locally sourced.
