The Cluster of Thai Automotive Parts (CTAP) is aiming to enter the US after-sales market by joining forces with local parts distributor Autotech Engineering Co, which is owned by a Thai businessman. Together, the distributor and the supplier group will form a new holding company, which will raise THB1bn to acquire a network of 30 repair centres around the US. CTAP President Samart Deebhijarn told the Bangkok Post that Thai suppliers have been trying to break into the US market for 10 years without success.
