Japanese carmaker Nissan Motor and electronic specialist NEC Corp have revealed details of their partnership aimed at producing battery packs for electric vehicles. The partners will invest a total of JPY12bn (US$115mn) in their Automotive Energy Supply Corp joint venture, which will produce lithium-ion batteries to be used in electric vehicles, hybrids and fuel cells.
