French carmaker Renault has taken further steps towards its project to produce an electric car with Israeli partners, with representatives visiting the country to examine the technology likely to be used in the project. According to press reports, the Renault-Nissan alliance is considering investment of up to US$1bn in developing the electric vehicles in conjunction with the 'Project Better Place' group.
