German carmaker Daimler has focussed on the structure of its Nigerian operations by appointing an authorised general distributor. Weststar Associates will take responsibility for the Mercedes and Maybach premium brands, co-ordinating dealer support, marketing, public affairs, sales and after-sales services. The move comes as Daimler restructures its Mercedes business in Nigeria, following both Daimler's split from Chrysler and the privatisation of Nigerian companies in which the firm owns shares.
