Italian carmaker Fiat has reached an agreement with its Turkish partner Tofas to produce a replacement for the Fiat Doblo van in Bursa, Turkey. The US$500mn project will involve research and development and production costs for the new light commercial model, which will go on sale in H209. The partners intend to produce 120,000 units per year, of which around 70% will be exported, supporting BMI's view that Turkish commercial vehicle production will surpass 600,000 units by 2011 on the back of strong export
