The Chinese automotive parts segment has been given a boost by the further participation of international figures. Continental Automotive Systems (CAS), of Germany's Continental AG, has pledged investment of EUR67mn for a hydraulic brake plant. Based in Changshu City, the plant is expected to begin production of hydraulic brake products in H208 and plans to reach its annual production capacity of 2mn brake actuation units and 4.6mn brake calliper units by 2011. By this time, the plant should also have a workforce of around 1,000 people.
