South Korea's Hyundai Motor will expand the annual production capacity of its plant in Izmit, Turkey, with a view to achieving its sales target in Europe. Output at the plant will be raised from 60,000 units in 2006 to 100,000 units by 2009. The first phase of the expansion will see capacity increased to 90,000 units this year, boosted by the addition of the Matrix compact model, alongside the existing Accent and Starex minivan.
