The Romanian automotive sector is dominated by local Renault subsidiary Dacia, which is enjoying resurgent popularity on export markets with its budget Logan model, launched in late 2004. The Logan has not only been a success in Central and Eastern Europe, but also in Western European states, according to BMI's newly published Romania Automotives Report. In the January-November period of 2006, vehicle sales rose 14.3% y-o-y to 269,685 units, including a 17.8% y-o-y rise in passenger car sales to 233,187 units.
