As 2006 draws to a close the UK's automotive industry has reached a crucial stage. A gradual decline in production, as the industry witnessed the demise of the iconic MG Rover, and heavyweights such as France's Peugeot followed through on plans to end production in the country, has had a negative impact on year-end figures.
