Embattled truck maker MAN, which has become embroiled in an increasingly bitter battle to absorb the Swedish manufacturer Scania, is to invest EUR150mn in Poland over the next two years. The German company will use part of the investment to develop an existing plant in Starachowice, while a portion will be allocated to a factory in Niepolomice (located near Krakow). Poland has gained in importance for MAN, and the commercial vehicle market offers significant opportunities.
