Leading Russian carmaker Severstal Avto is to commence production of Rexton 4x4 vehicles this week in line with an agreement concluded back in 2004 with the South Korean manufacturer Ssang Yong. Work to accommodate the project is reported to have got underway in 2005 on a plant in Naberezhnye Chelny, the second largest city in the Russian republic of Tatarstan, and which is known for being an industrial hub.
