Germany's Volkswagen has revealed that it has no plans to begin vehicle production in the Middle East, despite a drive to improve its regional sales. The subject has been brought to the fore recently, as the German company entered into talks last year with the Mubadala Development Company, owned by the Abu Dhabi government, regarding a component plant and heavy vehicle assembly. The negotiations proved fruitless, however, as did an offer by investors to build a plant for VW in Egypt.
