Autos majors are investing millions of euros in expanding their sales operations in Bulgaria, a candidate for EU accession that witnessed the world's highest car sales growth rate in 2005, with 35.5% growth. In the first three quarters of 2006, Bulgarian passenger car and light commercial vehicle sales totalled 28,568 units, while bus and truck sales totalled 1,418 units. Given this performance and projected trends for Q406, Business Monitor International's (BMI's) newly released Bulgaria Automotives Report forecasts that total automotive sales are set to rise by 15.8% by the year-end, with further moderation over the forecast period following EU
