As Japan's Toyota marks the 10th anniversary of its Toyota Nigeria Limited (TNL) subsidiary, the company has confirmed that it will not be establishing local production facilities in the near future. TNL managing director Ayodele Koffi Sagae stated that at the company's current level of sales, it would be difficult to achieve the economies of scale needed to make production viable. This reflects BMI's view of the Nigerian market, which is one where production will still account for only one-third of sales by 2010.
