Last year, Polish carmaker FSO was facing bankruptcy, struggling with low orders and uncertainty over its long-term future. Since Ukraine's AvtoZAZ bought up the state's controlling 20% share in the firm in late 2005, FSO's outlook has brightened, benefiting from a rise in exports of its Daewoo Lanos model to Ukraine. Company sources suggest that the Polish built Lanos now commands a 35% share of the Ukrainian market.
