The Ukrainian Eurocar factory this week opened new manufacturing facilities which have raised the company's production capacity from 17,000 to 45,000 units per annum. Eurocar assembles Skoda, Volkswagen and Audi cars. Later this year, it will also start manufacturing SEAT's Leon, Altea and Toledo models, which represents the first stage of Eurocar's 2005-11 upgrade and expansion programme. New welding and paint shops are due to come into operation in 2006-08 as part of the US$200mn expansion programme.
