The Fiat Group accounted for just under 90% of Italy's total auto output and nearly 96% of car production in 2004, and in 2005 its 626,515 units represented 28% of Italian auto sales totalling 2,234,174 (-1.3% from 2004's 2,264,688 units). Its Grande Punto was the top seller, followed by the Panda mini in second place and the Lancia Ypsilon in third.
