The new Fiat Punto model, launched in September 2005, should help reverse the downward trend in car production over the forecast period. However, the rate of output growth will be modest. We forecast a 4% fall in car output in 2005 to 800,239 units. For the rest of the forecast period, car production will grow by an average of 1.5% per annum.
