VW Mexico Cuts Production, Jobs
January 2009 | Company BriefNews: According to AP, the President of German auto maker Volkswagen's (VW) Mexican unit Volkswagen de Mexico has stated that the facility in Puebla State will stop production for a week in March 2009 and extend its normal Easter holidays. The automaker will also lay-off 800 employees from the Mexican factory, which will reduce production by 20%. The vehicles manufactured at the Mexican plant are mainly exported to the US.
