Renault's New Strategy Seeks To Earn Investor Confidence
February 2011 | Company News AlertIn its new strategy plan, dubbed Renault 2016 - Drive the Change, the French carmaker has signalled its intention to replace domestic rival PSA Peugeot Citroën as the second biggest carmaker in Europe by 2013, by increasing annual sales from 2.6mn to 3mn vehicles worldwide by that year. BMI does not consider the target to be highly ambitious, given Renault's firm standing as the third largest carmaker in Europe, however, the success of the plan could have positive long-term implications for the company finances. Thanks to its low cash position, Renault has long failed to woo investors.
