Production Makes Strong Rebound, But BMI Doubts Sustainability Of Growth

Car and light commercial vehicle production reached a record 197,418 units in Mexico in September, a 35% increase compared with the same month last year, according to the Mexican Auto Industry Association. With a 67% year-on-year (y-o-y) production increase, to 1.66mn units, in the first three quarters of this year, BMI has significantly revised up its 2010 output forecast, to nearly 2.17mn units, compared with our earlier forecast of 1.82mn units.
