More Funding Required To Realise Homegrown EV Goal
August 2010 | Project NewsWhile BMI has previously flagged up South Africa's insufficient power supply as a potential risk to the launch of a domestic electric vehicle (EV), the company behind the Joule EV has now also cited a shortfall in funding as a possible showstopper. Although government departments have provided loans towards the Joule's development, more serious funding is needed to mass produce the car, which could require the kind of outside backing that BMI sees as a long-term industry
