Tough Economic Environment Lowers Our Sales Growth Forecast

BMI fears the government's continued unwillingness to reintroduce the scrappage scheme this year could lead to a sharp decline in vehicle demand by the end of 2010. Latest estimates from the Italian Association of the Automotive Industry (ANFIA) have revealed that the fall in demand in April this year significantly worsened by July, when sales fell more than 26% year-on-year (y-o-y), to 152,752 units.
