Wage Demands Risk Harming Mexico's Competitiveness

Workers at Volkswagen (VW)'s plant in Mexico have again threatened strike action, in what is turning out to be regular problem for the German firm during its annual contract negations. While we do not see this conflict resulting in any pull-out by the company, we warn such disputes could prove a significant deterrent to Mexico's production growth should they be allowed to spread.
