Recovery To Pre-Crisis Growth Levels Remains Remote

New vehicle sales data for Slovakia in 7M10 shows a clear divide between weak consumer sentiment and recovering business confidence in the economy. While sales of light vehicles - comprising passenger cars and light commercial vehicles (weighing up to 3.5 tonnes) - declined a massive 36.5% year-on-year (y-o-y), to 37,687, heavy truck purchases were up more than 34% y-o-y (to 1,146 units), according to estimates from the Automotive Industry Association of Slovakia (ZAP).
