Drop In Construction Activity Leaves Glut Of Used Trucks

The used truck market in Qatar is facing oversupply and falling prices as the rapid growth of the construction sector came to an abrupt end in 2009. Although BMI's Infrastructure team is optimistic about further growth in construction after the government announced plans to invest QAR35.5bn (US$9.7bn) in infrastructure projects through the budget in fiscal 2010/2011, the sheer volume of used trucks that has built up means it could be some time before the situation improves.
