Opportunities Rife For Electric Vehicle Production in Emerging Europe

Emerging markets in Europe are increasingly focusing on alternative fuel vehicle technology, justifying BMI's view these vehicles will become the future of the auto industry. Tofas, a joint venture between Fiat and local conglomerate Koc Holding, has tied up a deal with Turkish parts maker Arcelik, which will produce electric engines for the Doblo electric van. CEO Ali Pandir has revealed Tofas will initially look to export the Doblo to European markets and may eventually launch it in the US.
