BMI Sceptical About Lithuania's EV Programme

Lithuania has become the latest country in Europe to formulate a strategy and timeline for adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) on a mass scale. The country's transport ministry has revealed it hopes to power at least 50% of its total vehicle fleet by electricity by 2050. Although the move clearly shows that countries in emerging Europe are becoming increasingly influenced by the robust vehicle electrification programmes in the West, we are sceptical about the timelines set by the government and whether consumers will be ready to embrace EVs.
