New Car Sales Rise 44.6% In May

June 2010 | Industry Brief

News: Industry data released by the Spanish car manufacturers' association Asociación (Nacional) de Fabricantes de Automóviles y Camiones (Anfac) has indicated a 44.6% year-on-year (y-o-y) rise in new car sales to 102,873 units in May 2010. The sales rise comes on the back of the government's soon-to-be-end scrappage scheme. The increase is also attributed to the government's EUR2,000 (US$2,500) subsidies for new car purchases introduced in May 2009.
