Parts Supplier Launches Global Ambitions In India

Mexican parts maker Metalsa is aggressively increasing its participation in the global auto industry, justifying BMI's long-term view that domestic brands from emerging markets will look to internationalise their presence. Such are Metalsa's ambitions that it has set up a manufacturing facility in Jamshedpur, India and built contacts with local players Tata Motors and Mahindra-Navistar in a move which could help it become a leading supplier for structural components for light and commercial vehicles worldwide.
