Korean Brands Maintain Stranglehold Over Car Imports

Despite a sustained slide in demand for cars, the Jordan Free Zone Investors Association (JFZIA) has revealed a 60% increase in car imports during Q110. Some 20,000 cars passed through the free zone in the first three months of the year, compared with 12,500 in the same period last year. Of the total imports, Korean brands accounted for 60%, largely due to their affordability, according to JFZIA's president, Nabil Rumman. This has been an ongoing trend in Jordan, with the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (Kotra) revealing that the country accounted for 32% of all Korean used car exports in H109,
