VW Starts Third Shift To Increase SUV Output
March 2010 | Company News AlertAn increase in demand orders for Volkswagen (VW) vehicles has prompted the German carmaker to introduce a third shift at its plant in Bratislava, local news agency SITA has reported. The addition comes as a rare piece of good news for the plant which faced production cuts of up to 44% year-on-year, to only 105,997 units, in 2009, while its workforce was also trimmed nearly 17%, to 6,500, during the year.
