Acquisitions Help Geely Boost Production To 1.5mn Units

Chinese carmaker Geely Automobile is set to increase domestic output five-fold, to 1.5mn vehicles per year by 2015, as its parent company Zhejiang Geely Holdings stands ready to acquire Volvo and positions itself to enter the luxury and green car markets, AsiaPulse reports.BMI believes that Chinese vehicle production as a whole will increase by 72% between 2009 and 2014, to 23.6mn units.
