Monthly Car Sales Fall Amid Recalls And Snowstorms

US light vehicle sales dropped 3.7% month-on-month (m-o-m) in February 2010 to 10.4mn units annually on the back of heavy snowstorms and Japanese carmaker Toyota Motor's recall of 8.5mn vehicles, although sales were up by 13% year-on-year (y-o-y), the Financial Times reported. Total car sales in the US rose 13% y-o-y, to 780,265 units, during the month.
