Continental On Expansion Spree

Continental Tire the Americas is looking to increase its presence in the Mexican retreading market by establishing as many as 15 ContiTread plants in the country by 2011, online news source MTD has reported. Retreads, which are remanufactured versions of worn out tyres, are primarily used as replacements for original tyres. Estimates from MTD show the tyre replacement market in Mexico reached more than 20mn units in Mexico in 2007, more than double its size in 2000.
