GAZ Prioritises 'Survival' In 2010

Gorkovsky Avtomobilny Zavod (GAZ), one of Russia's largest commercial vehicle manufacturers, will be working on survival strategies in 2010 and is accordingly examining various options ranging from expanding passenger car production to potential tie-ups with foreign carmakers. BMI believes that the news reflects the dire state of carmakers in Russia, most of which are struggling with weak finances due to low vehicle demand and tough competition from foreign players.
