Government Launches Minimum Fuel Economy Standards

The Mexican government will be introducing minimum fuel economy standards for the autos industry as a part of its broader 2009-2012 sustainable energy plan approved in November 2009. The regulation aims to speed up 'the adoption of and implementation of technology...in order to progressively increase the national fuel economy', the country's Energy Ministry said.
