Tax Break Favours Flex-Fuel Vehicles

Brazil's finance minister Guido Mantega has extended the tax break on cars until March 2010, while that for trucks will continue until June 2010. Reuters reported that the extension could cost the government an estimated BRL1.3bn in revenue next year, but it expects higher sales, fewer job cuts and savings on unemployment benefits to even out this loss.
