Higher Taxes For Less Fuel-Efficient Vehicles
November 2009 | Industry BriefNews: According to just-auto.com, Japan's finance ministry is considering the idea of imposing higher taxes on less fuel-efficient vehicles. Although the move is likely to be criticised by the auto industry, Senior Vice Finance Minister Naoki Minezaki, believes that taxes should be raised on non environment friendly vehicles. He added that the Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) might implement the tax system, while removing provisional tax portions.
