Vehicle Sales Register Smallest Decline To Date

The Canadian automotive industry narrowly missed returning to positive sales growth in October, as total vehicle sales declined 1% year-on-year (y-o-y), the smallest contraction for the year so far. Yet again, the light truck segment bucked the global trend for a preference towards smaller vehicles as segment sales were up by 0.7% in October, compared with a 2.6% decline in car sales. For the 10 months combined, truck sales are down by just 5.7% compared with a 19.1% drop in passenger car
