Toyota Targets Imported Market
October 2009 | Product LaunchJapan's Toyota Motor has extended its reach in the Asian automotive industry by officially launching the Toyota brand in South Korea. Until now, the group has only been represented by the Lexus premium brand, which claimed a market share of 9.84% in 2008. However, the Japanese brand feels that this approach 'has become insufficient to meet the diverse needs of Korean consumers', according to Toyota's vice president, Yukitoshi Funo.
