CAMI Workers Approve New Contract
September 2009 | Company BriefNews: Members of the Canadian Auto Workers union (CAW) at a Canadian plant jointly owned by US automaker General Motors (GM) and Japanese automaker Suzuki have given their approval to a new labour contract. Under the terms of the contract, workers' wages and pensions will be fixed, benefits reduced, a monthly health care contribution will be introduced and break times slashed. However, the contract at the CAMI Automotive assembly plant brings up base wages to a par with GM's plants for the first time.
