New Car Sales Plummet 56.9% In August
September 2009 | Industry BriefNews: According to El Universal, new vehicle sales in Venezuela plummeted by 56.9% in August 2009, compared with August 2008. The decline was attributed to stoppages at local assembly plants, a short supply of US dollars to pay suppliers and labour disputes. Venezuela's Automotive Chamber (Cavenez) has reported that 7,929 units were sold in August, compared with 18,416 units in August 2008.
