Currency Strength Fails To Impress Auto Imports

Total vehicle imports fell a staggering 35.2% year-on-year (y-o-y) during 7M09, to 238,667 units, making for just under 58% of the country's total vehicle sales during the same period. This is clearly a significant drop from its close to 61.5% share in the total new vehicles market during the same time last year.
