Carmakers Suffer During Trade Suspension

New car sales in Colombia averaged only 15,000 units a month in 8M09, taking sales down 21% year-on-year (y-o-y), just-auto.com has reported. BMI believes the domestic autos industry has been doubly hit by a slowdown in the overall economic activity and the suspension of vehicle exports to Venezuela and Ecuador - the country's main exporting destination.
